Men broke into an ATM located outside a supermarket in Milton Keynes using a chainsaw, according to reporting by Miltonkeynes. The incident, reported in an article published on 1 May 2026, saw the suspects use the power tool to force entry into the machine.
ATM break-ins using mechanical tools remain a persistent threat to retail premises. Supermarkets and convenience stores operating cash machines should ensure they are positioned in well-lit, monitored areas with active CCTV coverage, and consider additional physical barriers or alarm systems to deter such attacks.
