Two men have been arrested on suspicion of burglary after Bronze Age gold jewellery was stolen from St Fagans National Museum in Cardiff, according to reports published on 7 October 2025. The men, aged 43 and 50 and from Northampton, forced their way into the main building of the museum. The raid was accomplished quickly, with some sources reporting the theft took just four minutes. The jewellery pieces are described as Bronze Age gold artefacts, and the museum is located on the edge of Cardiff. Police investigated the incident and subsequently charged the two men in connection with the theft. The break-in at the much-loved national institution prompted a security review, with reports indicating that police had checked the museum’s security arrangements just a week before the burglary occurred.
