A raider targeted a jeweller in Harrogate by posing as a customer to steal high-value items. According to Harrogateadvertiser, the suspect made away with £29,000 worth of Rolex watches during the incident. The case reached court, resulting in a 17-month prison sentence for the offender, according to an article published on 9 July 2024.
Business owners should remain vigilant against customers who may be conducting surveillance or posing as genuine buyers, and implement proper security measures including staff training and CCTV coverage to prevent such thefts.
