According to Kentonline, a break-in occurred at a house under renovation on Westgate Grove in Canterbury at around 11:30pm. Tools valued at more than £1,000 were stolen from the property during the incident.

A suspect was detained in connection with the burglary and was due to appear in court following the arrest, as reported in an article published on 25 May 2024.

Homes under renovation are particularly vulnerable targets, as security measures may be reduced and valuable tools left on-site overnight. Ensure construction sites are well-lit, secure all entry points, remove or lock away tools and equipment at the end of each day, and consider installing temporary security cameras or alarms during renovation work.
