Attempted cash machine theft in Birstall

Officers were called to the scene just before 12.15am on Wednesday, May 6, following reports of an attempted theft of a cash machine.
Leicestermercury reports that when officers arrived, the suspected burglars were still present and reportedly attacked the police vehicle before fleeing the scene. The suspects were seen travelling along the A6 Loughborough Road, heading towards Syston on the A46.
