Burglary at Devine Desserts in Lostock Hall

According to an article published on 10 March 2026 by Blogpreston, a man has been jailed following a break-in at a dessert shop in Lostock Hall. Liam Elmer, 28, was apprehended by officers during the early hours of Sunday 1 March at the Devine Desserts premises on Watkin Lane.

Blogpreston reports that police officers on routine patrol noticed suspicious activity at the shop. Upon investigation, they discovered the suspect hiding in the stockroom after he had gained entry by breaking a window and damaging the till. Elmer, who is of no fixed address, was arrested at the scene and charged with burglary other than a dwelling and criminal damage.

Following his arrest, the defendant appeared at Preston Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 3 March. He pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to two months in prison.

Business owners are encouraged to ensure that all entry points are properly secured and that alarm systems are regularly tested to deter unauthorized access.
