Armed home invasion reported in Glenrothes
According to an article published by Dailyrecord on 3 February 2026, a private home in the Collydean area of Glenrothes was targeted in an armed robbery. Masked men, reportedly armed with a hammer and a knife, gained entry to the property during the early hours of Sunday.
Doorbell camera footage captured three individuals approaching the residence. The recording shows the suspects attempting to obscure the camera lens before entering the home. It is understood that a watch and a sum of money were stolen during the incident. Police Scotland has been contacted for comment regarding the investigation.
This event follows a series of similar residential break-ins reported across the region in recent months, including incidents in Gartcosh, Kilmarnock, and Yoker. While authorities continue to investigate these crimes, the report also notes that various commercial premises have faced similar security threats, with some businesses experiencing repeated robberies over the past year.
