Equipment stolen from vacant Oxford restaurant

According to an article published by Oxfordmail on 23 January 2026, a burglary occurred at a former restaurant located on Botley Road. The property, which previously operated as an Asian Fusion restaurant, has been closed since December 2022.

The owners suspect that an intruder entered the premises via the garden on 8 December. The theft was discovered the following day, on 9 December. According to Oxfordmail, the stolen items included a CCTV system and several routers, with a total estimated value of approximately £900 to £1,000.

The building owners reported that a suspect was captured on camera by a marshal. While the incident was not reported to the police, the owners have notified neighbouring businesses and are seeking information from the public. Despite the presence of barbed wire on the property’s fencing, the intruders managed to gain access. No further incidents have been reported at the site since the event.

Business owners are encouraged to regularly inspect security perimeters and ensure that surveillance systems are maintained to deter unauthorized access.
