Copper stolen from St Austell business
According to an article published by the BBC on 21 January 2026, police are appealing for witnesses following a burglary at a commercial premises in St Austell, Cornwall. The BBC reports that offenders forced a window to gain entry to Teddington Appliance Controls between 12:00 GMT on 9 January and 06:00 GMT on 12 January.
Devon and Cornwall Police stated that copper files and wiring with an estimated value of £6,500 were stolen from the building. Authorities are specifically requesting that anyone who may have been offered the copper for sale, particularly scrap metal dealers, come forward with information. Witnesses or individuals with relevant details are urged to contact the police.
