ATM stolen during ram-raid in Kidsgrove

According to an article published by Stokesentinel on 10 January 2026, a Co-op convenience store located on Cedar Avenue in Kidsgrove was targeted in a ram-raid. The incident occurred in the early hours of 9 January, when suspects used a JCB telehandler to steal an ATM from the premises.

Stokesentinel reports that the machinery, which had been stolen shortly before the burglary, was abandoned at the scene and subsequently seized by Staffordshire Police. Investigators believe two suspects, dressed in all black, arrived at the location in a white van and a silver VW Golf. The store sustained severe damage during the attack but has since reopened to the public.

Staffordshire Police are currently conducting inquiries and have requested that anyone with relevant CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage contact them. Witnesses are advised to call 101 and quote incident number 82 of 9 January.

Businesses are encouraged to review their security measures and consider installing reinforced bollards to prevent vehicle-based access to storefronts.
