Police search for suspect following Queensferry bakery incident

According to an article published by Walesonline on 5 January 2026, North Wales Police have launched a manhunt following an alleged attempted robbery at a Greggs bakery. The incident took place on Station Road in Queensferry, Flintshire, with officers being called to the scene at approximately 7.30am on Monday, January 5.

The suspect reportedly fled the premises empty-handed before police arrived. While eyewitnesses suggested the individual may have been wielding a knife, authorities have not yet verified this detail. Acting inspector Thomas Matthews has appealed for any witnesses or individuals with relevant footage to contact the force via their website or by calling 101, quoting reference O002063. Enquiries remain ongoing, and an increased police presence is expected in the area to provide public reassurance.

Business owners are encouraged to review their security protocols and ensure that staff are trained in incident response procedures.
