Incident at Childwall off-licence
According to an article published on 29 April 2025 by Liverpoolecho, Merseyside Police are investigating an attempted robbery at a Bargain Booze store located on Childwall Abbey Road in Childwall. The incident occurred on Sunday, 20 April, shortly before 6:15 pm.
Liverpoolecho reports that a man entered the premises and attempted to leave with two boxes of wine. When challenged by a member of staff, the individual allegedly pushed the employee to the floor. While there were no reports of injuries, the staff member was left shaken by the encounter.
Detectives have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak with, as they believe he may hold information vital to their ongoing enquiries. Merseyside Police have appealed for anyone with information regarding the incident to contact them via X @MerPolCC or anonymously through Crimestoppers, quoting reference 25000322743.
Business owners are encouraged to ensure that security cameras are well-maintained and clearly visible to act as a deterrent against potential theft.
