Two burglars jailed following Mansfield pharmacy raid

According to an article published by Westbridgfordwire on 7 November 2024, two men have been sentenced to six months in prison following a burglary at a pharmacy in Mansfield. The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, 2 November, when police officers on routine patrol heard a security alarm while passing Rosemary Street.

Upon investigation, officers discovered a glass panel missing from the pharmacy’s front door and observed individuals crawling through the damaged entrance. Dean Graves, 51, was apprehended at the scene, where police recovered stolen medication, cash, and a charity box, alongside a hammer found on the pavement. Further investigation of CCTV footage led officers to arrest 35-year-old Jamie Harris at an address on Beck Crescent, where he was found hiding in the loft.

Both men were charged with burglary and admitted to the offence at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 4 November. Detective Sergeant Ben Skellern of Nottinghamshire Police commended the responding officers for their alertness in interrupting the crime. Businesses are encouraged to ensure that all alarm systems and physical security measures are regularly tested and fully operational.
