Burglary at a private residence in Sneinton

According to an article published by Nottinghampost on 3 July 2024, two women have been sentenced to prison for a burglary at a private home in Sneinton. The offenders, identified as Dawn Charles and Tanya Rowley, entered the pensioner’s residence and stole his wallet.

Nottinghampost reports that the pair subsequently used the victim’s bank account to withdraw cash and make contactless payments, totaling approximately £700. The women were identified through CCTV footage from a local shop where they attempted to use the stolen funds, as well as video captured at the victim’s home. Despite attempts to conceal their identities, police successfully tracked the suspects, leading to their arrests on 22 December of last year.

At Nottingham Crown Court, Charles was sentenced to two years and five months in prison, while Rowley received a sentence of two years and two months. Both women pleaded guilty to burglary and fraud by false representation. A restraining order has been issued to prevent any further contact with the victim.
