Burglary at Talgarth supermarket

According to an article published by Countytimes on 19 June 2024, a Co-op supermarket in Talgarth was targeted in a ram raid burglary. Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed that the incident occurred at approximately 3am on Tuesday, 18 June.

The perpetrators used a vehicle believed to be a stolen forklift to smash into the store and remove the cash machine. The supermarket sustained extensive damage during the raid and is expected to remain closed for a significant period. While three vehicles suspected of being involved in the crime and the ATM itself have been recovered by authorities, Dyfed-Powys Police reported that no arrests had been made as of Tuesday morning.

Store manager Will Lloyd expressed his gratitude to the local community, police, and contractors for their support following the event. Local residents and officials have also voiced their support for the staff as the business works toward reopening. Police are currently seeking information from anyone who may be able to assist with the ongoing investigation.

Business owners should ensure that high-value assets are secured and that surveillance systems are regularly tested to deter unauthorized access.
