Attempted robbery at Eynsham Cellars

According to an article published by Oxfordmail on 15 April 2024, staff at Eynsham Cellars in Mill Street were threatened during an attempted burglary. Thames Valley Police report that the incident took place at approximately 7pm on Friday, 12 April.

An offender entered the shop and threatened a female staff member with a weapon, believed to be a gun. The individual placed a bag on the counter and demanded money. The staff member fled to the back of the premises, and the offender subsequently left the scene on foot, heading toward John Lopes Road, Evans Road, and the Back Lane Car Park. Police confirmed that nothing was stolen during the incident and no physical injuries were reported.

Authorities have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to regarding the investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the police quoting reference number 43240167978 or provide details anonymously via Crimestoppers.

Business owners are encouraged to review their security protocols and ensure staff are trained on emergency procedures to enhance workplace safety.
