Violent home invasion in Pontefract
According to an article published on 13 April 2024 by the Mirror, a family in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, was subjected to a violent burglary. The incident occurred on Good Friday at approximately 10:20 p.m. while the residents were asleep.
The Mirror reports that an armed gang, equipped with machetes, knuckledusters, and axes, forced their way into the home. During the confrontation, the father was struck in the face with weapons, resulting in significant injuries and bloodstains throughout the property. The intruders held a knife to the mother’s throat and demanded cash and jewelry, including watches and a wallet.
The victims, who were with their four-year-old son, eventually surrendered the items to ensure the safety of their child. West Yorkshire Police are currently investigating the incident. According to the Mirror, three men have been arrested and released on bail pending further inquiries. The residents have since taken steps to improve their home security following the attack.
