Residential burglaries in Uddingston

According to an article published by Glasgowlive on 5 January 2024, police are investigating two linked residential burglaries that occurred in Uddingston on the evening of Wednesday, January 3. The incidents involved a group of five men wearing dark clothing.

Glasgowlive reports that the first incident took place at a home on Bent Crescent in the Viewpark area at approximately 6:30 pm. Five intruders entered the property, attacked a 27-year-old man, and vandalized both the home and a car parked outside. The victim was transported to the hospital and has since been released.

Shortly after fleeing the scene in a dark-coloured Volkswagen Golf, the same group reportedly broke into a second residence on Alexander Avenue. The property and a vehicle parked at that location were also vandalized. Detective Constable Stephen Rose of Wishaw Police Station stated that the addresses are believed to have been targeted. Authorities are appealing for anyone with dash-cam or doorbell footage from the Viewpark area to contact the police quoting incident number 2993 of 3 January.
