According to an article published by the BBC on 23 May 2025, a ram-raid occurred at an Asda Express petrol station located off the A371 in Locking, near Weston-super-Mare. Police were called to the scene at 03:44 BST following reports that a group of men were attempting to force entry into the premises.

The BBC reports that a black Porsche Cayenne was used to smash into the building. Upon arrival, officers found the Porsche and a grey Ford S-Max abandoned at the site. The suspects, described as wearing black clothing and balaclavas, are believed to have fled the area in a blue Audi Q5. Despite a search of the vicinity supported by a specialist dog team, no individuals were located.

Avon and Somerset Police have confirmed that an investigation is currently under way. CCTV footage is being reviewed, and a cordon remains in place to allow crime scene investigators to examine the area. Businesses are encouraged to review their security measures and ensure that surveillance systems are regularly maintained to deter unauthorized access.
