High-value burglary reported in Camden
According to an article published on 30 December 2024 by Metro, a private home on Avenue Road in Camden was the target of a significant burglary. The incident occurred on 7 December between 5:00 pm and 5:30 pm while the resident, Shafira Huang, was away.
Metro reports that the intruder gained access to the property through a second-floor window after initially attempting to enter via the roof. The perpetrator reportedly spent 19 minutes inside the residence, stealing £10.4 million worth of bespoke jewellery, £150,000 in Hermes handbags, and £15,000 in cash. CCTV footage released by the family shows a suspect wearing a black jacket, grey trousers, and a grey cap.
The Metropolitan Police have issued an appeal for information regarding the suspect. Representatives for the family described the incident as a highly professional and pre-planned operation. Following the event, the family is reportedly enhancing their security measures. Local residents have expressed concerns regarding the brazen nature of the crime, noting the proximity of the property to the Israeli embassy.
