Residential burglary reported in Camden

According to an article published on 30 December 2024 by Metro, a significant burglary occurred at a private residence on Avenue Road in Camden. The incident, which took place between 5:00 pm and 5:30 pm on 7 December, resulted in the theft of bespoke jewellery valued at £10.4 million, along with £150,000 in Hermes handbags and £15,000 in cash.

Metro reports that the intruder gained access to the property through a second-floor window after accessing the roof. The family spokesperson described the incident as a highly professional, pre-planned operation that lasted approximately 19 minutes. While the homeowner, Shafira Huang, was not present during the break-in, the family has since released CCTV images of a suspect to assist the Metropolitan Police with their ongoing investigation.

Neighbours noted that the property is located near the Israeli embassy, an area typically monitored by armed guards. Following the event, the victims have begun increasing security measures at the residence. The Metropolitan Police have issued an appeal for information regarding the suspect, who was observed wearing a black jacket, grey trousers, and a grey cap.

Ensure all windows and doors are securely locked and consider installing high-quality alarm systems and motion-activated lighting to deter potential intruders.
