Residential burglary in Sevenoaks
According to an article published on 20 December 2024 by Kentonline, a prolific burglar has been sentenced to prison for targeting a vulnerable 91-year-old resident in Sevenoaks. On 15 September, the offender, Ambrose Treeby, gained access to the victim’s home by pretending to be concerned about an ill neighbour.
Kentonline reports that Treeby requested a pen to write down a contact number, creating a distraction that allowed him to steal £30 from the victim’s purse while she was in the kitchen. Following the incident, the victim alerted the police, leading to Treeby’s arrest after he was tracked via ANPR cameras and mobile phone data. The court heard that Treeby has a history of targeting vulnerable adults, with multiple previous convictions for similar offences. He was positively identified by the victim during an ID parade.
