Burglary at a body piercing salon in Barmouth

According to an article published on 20 December 2024 by Northwalesdailypost, a 29-year-old man has been sentenced to 14 months in prison following a burglary in Barmouth. The incident took place on 24 November, when the defendant, Kirk Lloyd, was spotted sitting naked on a bench in the town centre before breaking into a local body piercing salon.

Northwalesdailypost reports that the intruder smashed the glass of the salon door to gain entry. Although it remains unclear if any items were stolen, the business owner reported feeling anxious and stressed regarding the security of the premises. Following the break-in, the defendant was discovered by police in an unlocked vehicle parked nearby. During the court proceedings at Caernarfon Crown Court, the defense stated that the defendant had no recollection of the events, suggesting his drink may have been spiked. However, the judge noted the defendant’s history of similar offences and activated previous suspended sentences alongside the new term for burglary and criminal damage.

Ensure your business premises are properly secured and alarm systems are activated whenever the property is left unattended.
