Armed robbery reported at Armadale store
According to Edinburghlive, a robbery occurred at the Premier Lower Bathville store in Armadale on Thursday, June 26, at 8:15 p.m. A video shared with the news outlet shows a masked individual entering the premises while brandishing what appears to be a meat cleaver.
The suspect, who had his face covered by a black balaclava, was wearing a grey and black tracksuit top, grey joggers, and grey Adidas trainers. Edinburghlive reports that the individual threatened a shop worker and forced them to open the till. After allegedly taking bank notes from the register, the suspect exited the store and left the area.
In a statement posted to social media, the store management confirmed the incident and requested that anyone with information regarding the suspect contact them. Police Scotland has been approached for comment regarding the investigation.
Business owners are encouraged to review their security protocols and ensure that staff are trained on how to respond safely during an emergency.
