IT equipment was stolen during a break-in at a school in Falkirk, according to reporting published on 20 May 2025. Following the incident, police arrested a 37-year-old man and subsequently recovered the stolen IT equipment.
The recovery of the equipment and the swift arrest suggest a coordinated response to the breach. Schools house valuable computer resources essential to daily operations, including teaching equipment, administrative systems, and student devices. The theft of such items can disrupt educational services and compromise sensitive institutional data.
Educational institutions should review their security measures, including access controls, surveillance systems, and alarm monitoring, to prevent unauthorised entry and protect valuable assets.
