Burglar Locked Inside North Shields Newsagent Walks Free
A burglar who was locked inside a newsagent in North Shields by the shopkeeper has walked free from court, Chroniclelive reports in an article published on 31 May 2026.
The shopkeeper managed to trap the perpetrator inside the commercial premises during the incident. Despite the citizen’s intervention and the subsequent arrest, the court proceedings resulted in the burglar avoiding a custodial sentence.
