Break-in at Whitefield salon
According to an article published by the Manchester Evening News on 27 November 2024, a hair salon located on Bury Old Road in Whitefield was targeted by burglars in the early hours of Tuesday, 26 November. CCTV footage captured three individuals arriving on electric bikes at approximately 2.20am.
According to the report, the suspects used a brick to shatter the glass front door before two of the individuals entered the premises. The pair searched the reception area and the back of the salon, stealing a sum of money and petty cash. The incident lasted less than three minutes. The salon owner, who has operated the business for 10 months, reported that the shop was left in a state of disarray, forcing a temporary closure for repairs.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed that an investigation is currently underway, and no arrests have been made at this stage. The owner is appealing for anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the police.
Business owners are encouraged to ensure that security systems are regularly tested and that all cash is removed from the premises overnight.
