Burglary at Trowbridge petrol station
According to an article published by Wiltshiretimes on 17 September 2024, a burglary occurred at the Trowbridge Lodge Budgens store on West Ashton Road. Wiltshire Police reported that at 10:42pm on Monday, 16 September, four individuals dressed in dark clothing and balaclavas broke into the petrol station shop.
The suspects allegedly stole a quantity of cigarettes, vapes, and alcohol. Witnesses noted that a glass door was smashed and alarm systems were damaged during the incident. Following the break-in, police pursued a vehicle believed to be linked to the crime, eventually locating it in Compton Chamberlayne. The occupants fled the scene, but officers recovered a large quantity of stolen goods, a crowbar, and fire extinguishers from the vehicle.
Wiltshire Police have cordoned off the site to conduct a forensic investigation. Authorities are currently appealing for witnesses and have linked this event to a series of similar burglaries across the South West.
