Break-in at GRiD Defence Systems

According to an article published by the BBC on 27 June 2024, four activists have been arrested following a break-in at GRiD Defence Systems in Wooburn Green, Buckinghamshire. The group, identified as Palestine Action, claimed to have barricaded themselves inside the premises, where they reportedly destroyed military hardware and displayed banners.

Thames Valley Police confirmed the arrest of three women, aged 24, 30, and 31, and a 56-year-old man on suspicion of burglary and criminal damage. The police stated that the activity is believed to be linked to protests regarding the conflict in the Middle East.

In response to the incident, a spokesperson for GRiD Defence Systems stated that the protesters were ill-informed regarding the company’s operations. The firm, which manufactures portable computer systems for the defence and aerospace industry, clarified that it supports the British Armed Forces and does not supply equipment to Israel. The company expressed relief that no individuals were harmed during the event.

Businesses should regularly review their physical security measures and access control protocols to prevent unauthorized entry.
