Burglary at P&B Metal Components in Sheffield

According to an article published by Sheffieldstar on 19 January 2026, South Yorkshire Police are investigating a burglary at P&B Metal Components in Darnall. The incident began on the evening of Saturday, 10 January, when locked gates were broken and a group of people entered the yard with vans and caravans.

Sheffieldstar reports that police initially attended the scene and served a Section 61 notice requiring the group to leave. Officers conducted a search at that time but found no evidence of theft. A burglary was reported approximately two hours later. Although officers returned to conduct a further search, they did not identify any suspects at the scene. The group remained on the premises until the morning of Sunday, 11 January.

Management at the firm later confirmed that raw materials, specifically silver used for industrial electrical components, were stolen during the raid. The company had entered administration four days prior to the incident. South Yorkshire Police are currently appealing for information and have requested that anyone with details contact them via 101, quoting incident number 949.

Businesses should ensure that perimeter security, including gates and fencing, is regularly inspected and reinforced to prevent unauthorized access.
