Business rescue following Sheffield burglary
According to an article published by Sheffieldstar on 5 March 2026, the metal components manufacturer P&B Metal Components has been bought out of administration. The firm, located on Acres Hill Lane in Darnall, was acquired by the Michigan-based Associated Metal Forming Technologies, a move that saved 47 jobs after six workers were made redundant.
Sheffieldstar reports that the business was raided by thieves four days after entering administration. South Yorkshire Police stated that trespassers with caravans entered the yard on January 10. Officers attended the site and served a Section 61 notice, requiring the group to leave the premises. A burglary was reported at the facility two hours after police had left the scene.
As of last week, South Yorkshire Police confirmed that no arrests have been made in connection with the case. P&B Metal Components specializes in using silver to manufacture electrical switches for industrial use. Todd Smith, president of the acquiring company, noted that the firm’s history of engineering excellence aligned with their business goals.
Business owners are encouraged to regularly review and upgrade their perimeter security measures to deter unauthorized access to commercial properties.
