Arrest made following burglary in County Durham
According to Independent, a 32-year-old man from North Yorkshire has been arrested on suspicion of burglary following an incident at the home of England cricket captain Ben Stokes. The burglary occurred on 17 October 2024 while Stokes was away in Pakistan for a tour.
Independent reports that a group of masked individuals entered the property while the cricketer’s wife and two children were inside. Although the family did not suffer physical harm, Stokes noted that the event has had an emotional impact on them. Several personal items, including an OBE and various pieces of jewelry, were reported stolen during the break-in.
Durham Police have confirmed that the arrested individual has been released on bail as inquiries continue. Authorities are currently appealing for further information and have requested that anyone with knowledge of the incident contact them, quoting incident number 543 of 17 October.
