Northumbria Police has appealed to the public for help following the theft of charity donation boxes from a Tyneside bus depot, according to Chroniclelive. The boxes are used annually on Stagecoach buses to raise cash for The Sunshine Fund, a local charity supporting disadvantaged children and families.
The theft occurred sometime before an article was published on 11 December 2025. Police are urging anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of the donation boxes to contact them.
Businesses operating collection points for charitable causes should implement secure storage measures and regular collection schedules to protect donations and prevent theft.
