A family-run jeweller in the upmarket Richmond area of west London was targeted in a dramatic daytime burglary, according to reports published on 2 February 2026. Two individuals armed with hammers smashed the shop window and forced their way inside to steal goods, as members of the public watched in horror.
An employee inside the jewellers attempted to fend off the assailants during the incident, but the burglars succeeded in carrying out their raid before fleeing the scene. Police have not yet released details of the value of items taken or identified the suspects, who remain under investigation.
Business owners are urged to install security measures such as reinforced window displays, alarm systems and CCTV to deter burglars and protect their stock and staff.
