According to reports published on 27 June 2024, a gang of masked individuals on bicycles broke into a luxury apartment in the Learmonth Terrace area of Edinburgh in broad daylight. The burglars, who concealed their faces beneath balaclavas, gained entry to the home and made off with multiple safes. The stolen items included cash and jewellery of significant value, according to Dailyrecord and other local outlets.

Police in Edinburgh have launched an investigation to identify the gang members. The attackers’ modus operandi involved cycling to the scene before making their escape with the safes. No arrests have been reported at this stage of the inquiry.

Homeowners in residential areas should ensure that valuables and documents are secured in safes bolted to floors or walls, and that safes are installed in locations less visible to potential intruders.
