A public house in Moreton, Merseyside, fell victim to two burglaries in the space of two days, Birkenhead reports. The incidents underscore the vulnerability of licensed premises to repeated targeting by criminals who may view them as soft targets due to their cash handling and valuable stock.
The circumstances of each break-in and the losses incurred remain under investigation. Police have not released further details about the timing or methods used in either incident, as published on 31 January 2024.
Businesses in the hospitality sector should consider installing alarm systems, CCTV coverage, and secure safes for cash, and ensure all entry points are reinforced and monitored during and after trading hours.
