Ram-raid attack at Burwell petrol station

According to Cambridgeindependent, an early-morning ram-raid took place at the Asda Express on Ness Road in Burwell on 17 June 2026. Perpetrators used a stolen telehandler alongside two other vehicles to remove a cash machine from the petrol station building. Police were called to the scene at 4:57 am.

Cambridgeindependent reports that this event follows a similar ram-raid that occurred the previous day in Ramsey, where a stolen telehandler was used to target a building society. Detective Inspector Jim Donington noted that these incidents are concerning for the local community and confirmed that dedicated patrols have been deployed while investigations into both crimes continue.

Authorities are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam, doorbell, or CCTV footage to come forward. Information can be provided to the police online, referencing incident 51 of June 17.

Business owners are encouraged to review their security measures and report any suspicious vehicles or activity in their vicinity to the authorities immediately.
