Ram-raid attempt in Arbroath

According to an article published on 22 March 2024 by the Dailyrecord, two shops in Arbroath, Angus, were damaged during an attempted ram-raid robbery. Police Scotland confirmed that the incident occurred in the early hours of Friday morning, involving a lorry that had been stolen from the Ulearn LGV training centre on Dens Road.

The Mayfield Foodstore sustained significant damage to its entrance and roofline. Authorities reported that the stolen vehicle also struck a second nearby store and at least one parked car on Lethnot Road. The owner of the training centre stated that the lorry, an ex-MOD vehicle, has been recovered but is considered a total loss due to the extent of the damage sustained during the incident.

Police Scotland have confirmed that enquiries to trace the suspects are currently ongoing. Business owners are encouraged to review their security measures and consider installing reinforced bollards or barriers to prevent unauthorized vehicle access to their premises.
