Residential burglary and assault reported in Cwmbran

According to an article published on 6 March 2024 by Walesonline, a 27-year-old man has been sentenced to 33 months in prison following a series of offences in Cwmbran. Jordan Parfitt was arrested on 1 February after attempting to gain entry to multiple properties on 14 January.

Walesonline reports that Parfitt was captured on CCTV trying the door handles of six different houses. During the spree, he successfully entered one property and stole a set of car keys while the occupant was asleep. When confronted by a resident outside a home on Coleford Path, Parfitt reportedly responded aggressively before punching the man in the face.

Parfitt pleaded guilty to burglary, six counts of attempted burglary, and assault by beating at Cardiff Crown Court. The court heard that the defendant had been released from prison only days before committing these offences. He will serve half of his 33-month sentence in custody.

Ensure all doors and windows are securely locked at all times, even when you are inside the property.
