Recent burglary spree in Widnes
According to an article published by Liverpoolecho on 22 November 2024, a series of burglaries targeting both residential homes and a local business occurred in Widnes. David Power, 42, of Cunningham Road, was identified as the perpetrator behind these incidents.
Liverpoolecho reports that the defendant first targeted GSB Signs in Appleton Village. The company director discovered on the morning of 18 September that an intruder had smashed a window to gain entry, stealing a desktop computer, keyboard, mouse, and various power tools. Following this, Power targeted several private residences, including a home on Woodland Avenue where an attempted break-in was thwarted by a neighbor, and a property on Birchfield Road where jewelry and electronics were stolen. Additionally, a home belonging to a dementia sufferer was burgled while the resident was in the hospital, resulting in the theft of personal items and jewelry.
Power was arrested on 25 September, and several stolen items were recovered. The incidents have caused significant distress to the victims involved.
