Burglary at a shop on New Hall Lane

According to an article published by Blogpreston on 16 January 2026, a man has been charged with multiple offences following a burglary at a shop in Preston. The incident occurred overnight between Thursday 8 January and Friday 9 January on New Hall Lane.

Lancashire Police reported that a rock was used to smash a shop window, allowing the perpetrator to gain entry and steal stock along with a till containing cash. According to Blogpreston, 33-year-old Simon Allonby, of no fixed address, appeared at Preston Magistrates’ Court on 14 January in connection with the incident and other alleged offences. He has been remanded in custody.
