According to an article published on 11 February 2026, Ctvnewsca reports that video footage documents the struggle between the man and the clerk during the attempted robbery. The incident escalated when the clerk fought back against the armed assailant.
Following the confrontation, the Peterborough store clerk was subsequently charged with aggravated assault, according to reports from Cbcca. The charges relate to the clerk’s use of force in defending against the would-be robber armed with a baseball bat.
