Recent burglaries at Ringmer store
According to Sussexexpress, a Morrisons Daily store located on Springett Avenue in Ringmer has been targeted by burglars twice in the span of two weeks. The most recent incident occurred on Monday, 17 February 2025, at approximately 2:38am.
Sussexexpress reports that during the latest break-in, a suspect was seen removing tobacco and cigarettes from the premises. A Sussex Police spokesperson confirmed that officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress at 2:50am. A 19-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of burglary and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
The store had previously sustained glass damage during an earlier incident, which resulted in the installation of wood panels on the doors. Staff have confirmed that CCTV footage of the most recent event is available. Police are currently requesting that any witnesses or individuals with relevant information contact them online or by calling 101, quoting serial 103 of 17/02.
Business owners are encouraged to regularly review their security systems and ensure that surveillance equipment is fully operational to help deter potential intruders.
