Violent burglary reported in Kimberley

According to an article published by the BBC on 20 January 2026, Nottinghamshire Police are appealing for information following a violent high-value burglary at a private home in Kimberley. The incident occurred on 4 December 2025, when five masked men, some armed with weapons including a sledgehammer and a pickaxe, forced entry into a property on Knowle Lane.

The BBC reports that the intruders assaulted a man and forced his wife to assist them in locating luxury watches and designer handbags. The stolen items, which include several high-end timepieces and designer accessories, alongside property damage, are estimated to be worth close to £1m. Following the incident, the suspects were observed on CCTV entering nearby woodland, and a grey hatchback with false plates was identified in the area.

Crimestoppers has offered a reward of £7,500 for information leading to the identification of those responsible. Detectives have described the event as a vicious attack that has left the victims with lasting trauma. Residents are encouraged to ensure their home security systems are fully functional and to report any suspicious activity to the authorities immediately.
