High-value burglary in London

According to an article published by the Guardian on 31 December 2024, a burglar stole £10m worth of jewellery from a mansion in Avenue Road, north London. The incident occurred on 7 December, shortly after 5pm.

The Guardian reports that the suspect, described as a “lone wolf,” gained entry by forcing open a second-floor bathroom window. Security footage shows the individual, estimated to be between 5 feet 7 and 8 inches tall, moving through the property for approximately 19 minutes. The burglar focused on a dressing island, ignoring a safe containing other valuables, before departing with the haul in a rucksack.

Police are currently investigating the theft. One line of inquiry involves whether the perpetrator may have posed as a potential buyer for a neighbouring property currently on the market to conduct reconnaissance. The suspect was last seen wearing a dark hoodie, cargo pants, and a grey baseball cap.

Ensure all windows and secondary access points are securely locked and consider installing high-quality alarm systems to protect your property.
