Theft reported at Woodham storage facility

According to an article published by Bucksfreepress on 22 November 2024, a local business owner has suffered a significant loss following a break-in at a storage unit in Woodham. The incident occurred at Standby Self Storage on Craigton Road.

The business owner, who serves as the sole UK provider for a specific energy drink brand, discovered several individuals loading his stock into vehicles on Sunday, 17 November. Despite contacting the police, the perpetrators managed to depart with approximately 95 per cent of the inventory before authorities arrived. Thames Valley Police confirmed that 35,000 cans were stolen from two containers, with the owner estimating the value of the lost stock at £16,000. The stolen goods had a projected retail value of approximately £32,000.

The business owner noted that the locks on the containers had been cut to gain access. Thames Valley Police have confirmed that an investigation into the theft is currently ongoing. As a result of the incident, the owner has been forced to de-list products and cancel outstanding orders while awaiting further developments from the police inquiry.

Business owners should regularly review their security measures and consider installing high-quality, tamper-resistant locks and surveillance systems to protect stored inventory.
