Armed robbery at Leeds jewellery store
According to an article published on 27 June 2024 by ITV, a masked gang carried out a robbery at the Beaverbrooks TAG Heuer boutique located within the White Rose Shopping Centre in Leeds. ITV reports that five individuals wearing balaclavas entered the premises armed with a circular saw, baseball bats, and a sledgehammer.
Police received multiple calls regarding the incident starting at 8.42pm on Wednesday. During the raid, the perpetrators damaged glass cabinets and escaped with several watches. While a member of staff had their hair pulled, police confirmed they were otherwise unharmed. Both the boutique and the adjacent Beaverbrooks store are currently closed following the event.
Detective Inspector John Graham of Leeds District CID described the incident as a planned and targeted robbery. West Yorkshire Police are investigating the matter and have requested that anyone with information contact them via 101.
Business owners are encouraged to review their security protocols and ensure that alarm systems and surveillance equipment are fully operational to deter potential intruders.
