Attempted ram raid at Billinghay supermarket

According to an article published by Lincolnshirelive on 9 January 2026, police are investigating an attempted ram raid at a Lincolnshire Co-op store and Post Office located on Church Street in Billinghay.

Lincolnshirelive reports that officers were called to the scene at approximately 2:05 a.m. on Friday, 9 January. Upon arrival, authorities discovered the vehicle used in the attempt had been abandoned at the site. Investigators believe the suspects fled the area in a dark-coloured SUV, which police are currently attempting to track.

The businesses remain temporarily closed while a police cordon stays in place to allow for the collection of evidence. A spokesperson for the Lincolnshire Co-op confirmed they are assisting with the investigation and aim to resume services as soon as possible.

Lincolnshire Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant CCTV, dash cam, or doorbell footage to come forward, quoting incident number 26 of 9 January 2026.

Business owners should ensure their security systems are regularly tested and that perimeter barriers are maintained to deter unauthorized vehicle access.
