Residential burglary in Rufford
According to an article published on 17 April 2025 by Chroniclelive, former professional footballer Duncan Ferguson spoke about a burglary that occurred at his home in Rufford, Lancashire, in 2001. Ferguson, who was playing for Everton at the time, was inside the property with his wife and young daughter when two intruders entered the residence through a conservatory.
Chroniclelive reports that Ferguson confronted the two men, leading to a physical altercation. One of the burglars managed to escape, while the other was detained by Ferguson until authorities arrived. The incident resulted in the perpetrator being hospitalized for three days. Following the event, the intruders were sentenced to 15 months in custody.
Ferguson noted that he experienced a second intrusion at a later date after moving to a different property. The former striker shared these details during a recent podcast appearance, reflecting on the events that took place while he was at home with his family.
