The burglars were subsequently sentenced to 15 months in prison for the break-in, and the individual apprehended by Ferguson required three days of hospital treatment for his injuries.
Ferguson later noted that he experienced a second attempted break-in at a different property two years after moving from the Rufford home. The former player reflected on the initial ordeal during a recent podcast appearance, detailing the events that led to the intruders’ arrests.
Ensure all entry points to your home are securely locked and consider installing a monitored alarm system to deter potential intruders.
